This web page is designed to help the layperson identify snakes found in North Carolina. The guide does not rely on technical, scientific details that are often difficult to ascertain. It does, however, necessitate accurate information by the observer. The system is designed to give all snakes that match or potentially match the criteria you supply. We cannot guarantee 100% accurate identifications every time.
People should not unnecessarily disturb snakes. The authors take no responsibility for any damage whatsoever resulting from using this tool.
