COMMENTS The promoter region of msp130 contains such putative regulatory
elements: possible TATA box (TATTA), possible CCAAT box (CCAT),
CGCTCAT heptamers (and variants with base mismatch), and GCCCCT
hexamer. Without additional data it is impossible to define promoter
elements that regulate primary mesenchyme cell gene expression,
but some sequence elements, the CGCTCAT and GCCCCT motifs
(which also occur in the promoter region of SM50 gene and has been
identified as possible regulatory elements) serve as examples
with possible functional significance.
