Herpes Simplex Virus VP22 is a 38 kD portion of the Herpes Simplex Virus
Type 1 protein. The protein is especially useful because it is able
to translocate between cultured cells. This ability is the main reason
for the higher efficiency and faster rate at which the Voyager technology
works. The Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 is most commonly recognized
as facial infections. The virus resides in a resting state in the
nerves that run directly to the facial skin around the mouth of an infected
person.
