• COMMENTS: SpCOUP-TF binds to C1R element, which is suffisient for repression of CyIIIb expression in meso/endodermal cells. The SpCOUP-TF mRNA is detected exclusively in the oral ectoderm at blastula and gastrula stages and in the ciliated band at the pluteus stage. The SpCOUP-TF receptor is also found exclusively at the ciliated band.This makes unlikely that the suppression of the CyIIIb promoter in meso-endodermal derivatives can be attributed to the interaction between SpCOUP-TF and the C1R element.
