AFRICAN SLEEPING SICKNESS - TRYPANOSOMA BRUCEI

This microscopic blood-borne parasite has wreaked havoc on African nations since the 1900s. The sleeping sickness disease it causes kills nearly 66,000 people annually and silently infects almost 450,000 more.
