Glycolysis is common among many species so many species
possess the enzyme hexokinase but the protein may be different in different
species. It is often useful to compare the protein sequence and hence the
nucleotide sequence of hexokinase in different species. The table
below compares homo sapiens, bos taurus, Yarrowia lipolytica, arabidopsis
thaliana, and mus musculus.
